Bug List - 2A

Bug List

1. The Tres Leches dessert from Whole Foods in Orlando is overpriced, costing $5 for a small piece.

Why: The Tres Leches is from a Cuban restaurant called Versailles located in Miami, so they need to ship it weekly, making the price higher.

2. Nowhere to safely or comfortably put women's purses at restaurants.

Why: Most restaurants do not have purse hooks in their tables, or the chairs don't' have the right back to place your purse on (rounded back that causes bag to fall off).

3. Grocery stores not selling half a loaf of bread.

Why: Most families consume a full loaf, so perhaps there is no need for them to sell less quantity.

4. Most Publix grocery stores do not have self-checkouts.

Why: Publix is all about customer service, and having a self check out might ruin their quality of service they have always provided to their customers.

5. Food cans that do not have pop-tops.

Why: It could be that the pricing is higher for that type of top versus a regular one that you open with a can opener.

6. Chick-Fil-A is closed on Sundays.

Why: Company wanted to give their employees a day to rest and worship if they choose.

7. Most establishments keep their AC extremely cold.

Why: The comfort of the client/customer is taken into account, and I think people would prefer to be chilly than hot, especially living in Florida.

8. College textbooks are ridiculously expensive.

Why: Book publishers don’t make money from used books, so they make the old editions obsolete and force you to buy a new book each year.

9. iPhones being overpriced and not living up to their price tags.

Why: People will still purchase $1,000 phones because of their loyalty to the Apple brand not necessarily for the quality.

10. Having to fold laundry and put it away.

Why: Putting the laundry in the washer and dryer is the easy part.

11. No recycling bins in most apartment complexes.

Why: In most cases, the cost is too high to have both trash and recycling bins.

12. Not getting enough of hours of sleep at night.

Why: Most likely Netflix or phone is to blame.

13. People not saying please or thank you.

Why: People lack manners and common courtesy and sometimes feel entitled.

14. Spinach going bad before you can consume it all.

Why: Too much moisture will cause spinach to go bad faster. Need to keep it in airtight space in the refrigerator.

15. Women's heels hurt your feet and are uncomfortable.

Why: It's not natural for your feet to be in that high of an incline. But most women will choose fashion over comfort.

16. iPhone battery dying too fast.

Why: Some phone apps drain your battery as well as being on your phone too much.

17. Walmart always having long checkout lines.

Why: There seems to never be enough cashiers working at the same time.

18. People having road rage.

Why: People lack driving etiquette or let their emotions get the best of them.

19. Never eating the recommended serving size of food.

Why: The recommended serving size seems like too little food, or they're addicting, and you can't have just one serving.

20. Fast food is cheap, and healthy food is way more expensive.

Why: Quality of food is not the same. In most cases, you get what you pay for.

The thought of coming up with 20 "bugs" for this assignment seemed daunting, but once I got past the first six, they came naturally to me. I like to think of myself as a positive person and rarely see the negative but when you're forced to examine your day to day life, you start to notice the inconveniences or problems around you. This exercise is great because you can possibly solve a problem that currently exists in our society. In my list, I had over 30 bugs and a few of them could easily be explored more in-depth for a future product. This was such a different yet eye-opening assignment.
